History of Haleem

A famous Iftaar delicacy, Haleem has its origins in the Middle East as well as the Indian subcontinent. Rich in texture and generously finished with Ghee, Haleem is a beloved street food of Hyderabad. The dish is derived from the Arabian preparation Harees (meaning mash), traditionally made using meat and lentils.  Al-Harees is mentioned in a 10th-century cookbook called Kitab Al Tabikh. It is also said that Haleem was enjoyed by Prophet Muhammad himself.

Consumption Instructions:

Gas Stove Methods

Gas Stove Method 1 :

Empty the contents of the pouch into a bowl, add 2-3 spoons of water and heat for 3-4 minutes. Empty contents of the bowl into a dish. Garnish with a few spoons of Ghee, Cilantro Leaves, A Sprinkle of Fresh Lemon Juice and Fried Onion then you are in food heaven.

Gas Stove Method 2 :

Dip the sealed pouch into boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Remove the pouch out of the boiling water. Cut open the pouch and empty its contents into a dish. Garnish with a few spoons of Ghee, Cilantro Leaves, A Sprinkle of Fresh Lemon Juice and Fried Onion then you are in food heaven.

Microwave Method

Empty contents of the pouch into a microwave able bowl, add 1-2 spoons water and heat for 1 minute. Empty contents of the microwave able bowl into a serving dish. Garnish with a few spoons of Ghee, Cilantro Leaves, A Sprinkle of Fresh Lemon Juice and Fried Onion then you are in food heaven.

Note:
Mutton Haleem can be consumed directly from the pack. However, heating it before serving makes it significantly more flavourful and authentic in taste.
